Ribbons

MERIT POINT SYSTEM

The merit point system is designed to reward cadets for dedication extra time and effort to the AFJROTC program.  Merit points are rewarded for participation in Cadet Corps activities and are complied annually.  Service and Activities Ribbons are awarded to eligible cadets who have earned the required points by the SASI/ASI.

EXAMPLES OF THE MERIT POINT SYSTEM:

SERVICE RIBBON

1. Usher/escort duty 3-10 pts
2. Fund-raising participation 2-5 pts
3. School support activities Awarded by SASI/ASI

With 35 merit points, a cadet will earn one Service Ribbon. With each additional 35 merit points cadets, will earn an Oak Leaf Cluster for the ribbon.

ACTIVITIES RIBBON

1. Color Guard for school activities 3-5 pts
2. Parades 5-10 pts
3. Other AFJROTC activities Awarded by SASI/ASI

With 25 merit points, a cadet will earn one Activities Ribbon.  With each additional 25 points cadets, will earn an Oak Leaf Cluster for the ribbon.

Cadets are responsible for turning in their service/activities to the unit personnel section.  The personnel section will enter the information into the cadet’s AFJROTC record.
