Chief Master Sergeant (Ret) Larry A. Rogers

Chief Master Sergeant Larry A. Rogers is the Aerospace Science Instructor in Leadership Education for the Air Force Junior ROTC unit located at Sickles High School. Chief Rogers entered active duty in June 1966 as an Aircraft Weapons, Maintenance Systems Specialist. During his nearly 28 years in the Air Force he had many assignments to include Webb, Lowry, England, McChord, Shaw, and MacDill Air Force Bases. He also served tours in Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, and Germany. During his tours he held several positions to include a Weapons Load Crew Chief, Weapons Section Supervisor, Weapons Superintendent, Technical and Field Training Instructor, Equipment Maintenance Squadron Superintendent, Chief of Quality Assurance and Operations Group Superintendent. He retired from the Air Force 1 Feb 1994.E-9 Insignia

In August 1995 he became an Air Force Junior ROTC instructor and opened a unit at Springstead High School. He taught there for 10 years, then moved to Middleton High School in 2005 to open a new unit. In 2009 he was part of the opening team for a unit at Sickles High School. Chief Rogers and his wife Jimmie have been married 35 years and have 3 sons (one of which is deceased) and 10 grandchildren.
